About The Pen
The American cowboy lives what he believes, and does not worry about conforming to anyone's mold. At the same time, a cowboy is a man of substance, strength and courage. The cowboy symbols on this pen are evidence of the real culture of hard work, horsemanship, and individualism. A replica of a tooled leather boot on top of the clip is the ultimate symbol of this American icon. The interlocking horseshoes around the center band are symbol of luck. While the stars throughout the pen design are a nod to the sheriffs of the Wild West, and stand for law, order and good will. Your gift recipient doesn't need to be a Cowboy to appreciate this pen; the symbolism of Cowboy and the Wild West is admired throughout the world.
Each pen is hand made to order in Dublin, Ohio. Wood options are Cherry, Western Red Cedar, Curly Maple, Mahogany or Hickory, all which are sourced from a sawmill in the heart of Ohio's Amish Country. In addition, we offer a 200 year Barnwood from recycled beams that came from a building we took down on our farm. Exotic wood options, which are sourced from Central and South America, are Purple Heart, Bloodwood, Redheart, Zebrawood, Dark Cocobolo and Light Cocobolo.
The colors of the wood shown are all their natural color, with the exception of the color dyed maples, and coated with a polyurethane finish to both protect and enhance the natural beauty of the wood! This finish will also keep its shine for years to come! Most polishes used by wood turners are a simple polished wax, which will wear away in a short period of time, leaving the wood dull with no protective finish.
The window boxes are made from cardboard, with a rubber loop under the ribbon to keep the pen in place, making the pen easier to wrap while offering a great display of the item.
